Maybe I should be embarrassed to admit that I will read Parade Magazine if it's in the Sunday paper, but in my defense, they interviewed Stephen Colbert! Who had this totally right-on comment about people who look down on being 'normal' or try to claim some kind of status as different or weird as a badge of honor:
"I don’t see anything wrong with [being ordinary]. I think a lot of people who
perform have a fear of being ordinary. They confuse ordinary with
common.”
